Looking to Buy PC Computers?
There are basic items to examine when comparing PC Computers so that you can make an informed purchasing decision. Here are just four of the most important ones.
- Processors (CPUs): Processor choices are a little more complicated today than they were before, but it is still basically a choice between an AMD or an Intel processor. The difference really comes down to speed.
- Memory (RAM): It is best to have at least 2GB of memory in the system, preferably 4GB because memory speeds can impact performance. The faster the memory, the better the performance should be. When buying memory, try to buy as few DIMMs as possible to allow for future memory upgrades if needed.
- Hard Drives: This comesl down to size and speed. The larger the drive and the faster, the better the performance and capacity. Look for a PC Computer least 500GB or more of storage space these days. In terms of speed, they are pretty much all running at 7200rpm now. A few high performance 10,000rpm drives are available. Most drives use the Serial ATA interface now for ease of installation.
- Monitors: LCDs are pretty much the standard now because of their reduced size and power consumption so the issue is more about size and cost and personal preference. The 22-inch monitor is the best overall value.
PC Computers and hardware do have a lifespan to them, and if you are a heavy user it is best to upgrade every 4 years to avoid major difficulties or risk loosing your files. Do yourself a favor and go with a known brand with a good warrantee when consider among the many PC Computers.
